On various occasions, VAQ took the initiative of relief and welfare programs in the locality. The devastating flood of 2018 and 2019 caused havoc in the region. Many were stranded in the relief camps. VAQ identified most of their suffering members and handed over financial aids to support the situation. 5000 notebooks were distributed to needy students from every school coming under the Panchayat.
During Covid-19 Pandemic, VAQ were in the frontline to support the people in all means. Food Kits were distributed for those who temporarily lost the job and Vitamin Kits to those who effected with Covid -19 virus. Continuous attempts were carried out on regular basis to assess the situation of each member in Doha. VAQ Salama 2019, a controlled public event during Covid was an attempt to express our compassion to the people of Vazhakkad.
As part of our welfare program, VAQ ladies wing initiated honoring Ex-VAQ members who were settled back in Kerala. Around 30 members were facilitated with Surprise Eid Gift along with a VAQ Tree which really made them the feel of compassion and togetherness.
